Jekyll Island Group ToursIt all began with The Jekyll Island Club, founded in 1886 as a winter retreat for America's wealthiest families - Morgan, Pulitzer, Rockefeller, Gould and many others. In its heyday, the Club was referred to as the richest, the most exclusive, and most inaccessible club in the world. Part of that world has been preserved as the Jekyll Island Club Historic District. Enjoy a tour through one of the largest restoration projects in the southeastern United States, providing a fascinating glimpse of historic homes and structures that illustrate various aspects of Club life in the Gilded Age. | |
